Daikin Heat Recovery Ventilation Installation for School Classroom by Chillaire Limited
Chillaire Limited carried out an installation of a Daikin VAM heat recovery ventilation air handlers for a new ground floor classroom to create a clean and fresh environment for the pupils.
The new Daikin VAM heat recovery ventilation air handlers will be providing constant fresh air to the new classroom with 65% to 75% heat recovery. The Daikin VAM heat recovery ventilation (HRV) air hander uses the heat from the extract air being taken out of the classroom to warm up the incoming fresh air being supplied into the classroom, heat transfer therefore saving energy.

The Daikin VAM heat recovery air handler (HRV) was located externally within a weatherproof enclosure and the fresh air in and extract air out was ducted through the rear wall of the new classroom to deliver the fresh air into the classroom through the ducting and distributed in and out through grilles mounted in the rear wall of the classroom.

A wall mounted controller provides full control over the Daikin VAM HRV unit with time clock control and a CO2 sensor was installed to monitor the classroom environment, the Daikin VAM HRV then ramps up and down reacting to the room CO2 levels to ensure the room stays fresh.
From start to finish, the project was completed within four weeks and was managed by Chillaire Limited project managers and the office project team, who provided the project plan, H&S documentation and arranged the logistics required for the project.
