Hitachi Yutaki Hot Water & Heating System
An alternative to conventional gas Central Heating Systems & More Energy Efficient
Hitachi’s energy efficient heat pump receives MCS approval to bring customers cost-saving benefits.
Hitach’s Yutaki air source heat pump range has been awarded MCS (Microgeneration Certification Scheme) approval – giving customers access to grants and future payment eligibility through the government’s proposed Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) scheme.
Yutaki – capable of reducing CO2 emissions in domestic and commercial settings by up to 50% compared to boiler-led systems – received MCS approval from BRE Global following strict assessment of its factory production control, components, assembly and delivery capability.
The air source heat pump is already cheaper and easier to install compared to a ground source heat pump; integrating seamlessly with different types of heating systems such as traditional radiators and underfloor heating. The MCS approval means that customers can now save even more money when installing Yutaki, as it is eligible for governmental financial support.
Available from 5kW to 14kW, Yutaki works by converting the latent energy in the air into cost-effective heating energy, with every 1kW of electricity used to power the heat pump providing up to 3 kilowatts of extra free energy in a well-insulated property. It is controlled by weather-compensation sensors, which detect the difference between inside and outside temperature to ensure efficiency and comfort.
The product features inverter driven compressor technology – a high pressure DC inverter scroll compressor operating at variable speeds. This varies the amount of energy used, depending on the temperature in the building, to meet the demand required – reducing operation costs.
Glyn Jones, UK Product Marketing Manager of Hitachi, said: “We’re delighted that Yutaki has received MCS approval. This not only reinforces how energy efficient Yutaki is, but also directly benefits our customers by allowing them to save even more money now when installing the product.” “Since its launch last year, Yutaki has received such fantastic feedback – our UK distributor Nu-Heat for the product has had 100% positive reaction from all installations that have already taken place, including those that had to handle this year’s big freeze. Yutaki has also proved itself to be an ideal retrofit product, with excellent results from older properties. We are developing it all the time, with this year seeing the launch of a 6HP model for increased performance in commercial settings.”
